Doctor’s Rx: Get Moving!

Has your doctor told you to exercise? Do his or her words keep you up at night? Do you wonder if you can ever be successful at being more active? The only requirement involves changing your attitude and the willingness to explore movement in a whole new way. Learn how to take the pressure off and become a kid again through playful activity.

One of the most difficult obstacles to face is how to go from being sedentary to being active. The thought conjures up a feeling of anxiety perhaps for what we think an active life is. When we see images of happy skinny people running along the beach or lifting heavy weights or being contorted into a weird stretch poses, we feel anxious because those images don’t reflect who we are.

The key to finally getting active is to learn about the process. What is actually involved in changing this health behavior of physical inactivity? I can help you get rid of old preconceived beliefs that are no longer working for you and help discover the activities that fit you. What have you been successful with in the past? What are you willing to try? How to deal with the “icky” feeling of exertion?

It is possible to be successful. Learn how to look at activity in a whole new way. If you want to find out more about how you can learn to conquer your fear of activity, click here.
